April 21st the Commander participated in a Veteran Focus Group to provide input on bettering a Veteran program in the community where Veterans can receive discounts for their service.
April 23rd the Post Benefits Advisor and a few other members held a movie night showing ""Warriors"" with some of the original cast in attendance signing autographs along side other Veterans and Scout Troop.
April 26th the Commander and five other Post members to include 8 Auxiliary members participated in Elmwood Park's ground breaking Community Garden where the unveiling of the rainbow bridge for pets/service animals have passed. This rainbow bridge was erected in honored of Shadow ""America's Pup"" Schupp. The Veterans also planted Poppy seeds in a section of the garden representing the Veterans of the community.
April 26th we assisted the Carolyn the Auxiliary Chaplain with judging coloring contest for Department level regarding high school students. Post 281 Veterans and Auxiliary members assisted. |
