 January 10th - Yahaira Padilla the Commander of VFW Post 281 provided support for the NJ Department VFW VOD Dinner in Toms River which honored first place students from all VFW Districts. Also Teacher of the Year.

 January 16th - Yahaira Padilla Commander of VFW Post 281 Frank ""Doc"" Schupp Post Benefits Advisor and a few other Post members joined their families at Nickelodeon at American Dream Mall for the Governor-elects Military Family Appreciation Day. January 22nd - Yahaira Padilla Commander of VFW Post 281 attended the public meeting of the Elmwood Park Mayor and Council. I suggested that students who use e-bikes take a safety course and that they receive certificates when they finish it. In addition I inquired about the penalties for ""off leash"" dogs as they are allowed in parks. January 24th - Yahaira Padilla the Commander of VFW Post 281 provided support for the NJ Department VFW Patriot's Pen in Toms River which honored first place students from all VFW Districts. January 24th - Yahaira Padilla the Commander of VFW Post 281 and Ronald Szymanski the Quartermaster were present at the Installation Beefsteak Dinner hosted by the Elmwood Park Fire Department. In honor of the recently promoted officers of the Elmwood Park Fire Department for 2026–2027. This month for the 2026 season the Elmwood Park Girls Softball League was sponsored by VFW Post 281. We completed the $500 All Star bundle. The All Star package consists of the following: weekly in-season social media mentions monthly in-season social media mentions team sponsor with naming rights on team jerseys thank-you plaque banquet ticket recognition on the website sponsor page and the corporate logo on the group sponsor banner.
