On Nov 9 the VFW Post organized a Friendsgiving celebration. The members of the VFW Post and Aux actively participated with the community in the commemoration of Thanksgiving. All attendees contributed either a main course side dish or desert to share with the group.
On Nov 11 VFW Post 281 participated in the Veteran's Appreciation breakfast sponsored by St. Leo's Catholic Church and School in commemoration of Veteran's Day. VFW Post 281 and its Auxiliary participated in the Veterans Day ceremonies held in both Elmwood Park and Fair Lawn. The Commander delivered remarks at the Elmwood Park ceremony while our Sr Vice Cdr addressed attendees at the Fair Lawn ceremony.
VFW Post 281 hosted a modest refreshment and pastry reception following the ceremony and extended invitations to all attendees.
Prior to the deadline we submitted our First Place VOD winner from among the 6 participants to the District level. Prior to the deadline we submitted our First Place Patriot's Pen winner from among the three competitors to the District level. |
