October 4/5: 1st Annual Fall Festival Pumpkin Patch. Hosted the first community pumpkin patch
distributing nearly 300 pumpkins. The event offered family photos face painting fall activities
and food to attendees. (18 Hours of Community Activity) Donated $2000
October 8: National Hispanic Heritage Month; Puerto Ricans in the U.S. Military. Attended a
community lecture which spoke of Puerto Rican service in the US Military; Manhood Equality
Belonging Patriotism and Resistance. (1.5 Hours of Community Involvement)
October 9: Town of Kearny Octoberfest. Provided support to the Town of Kearny during its'
Oktoberfest by serving warm beverages including coffee an hot chocolate. Additionally we
supported our community partner Kearny Prevention Coalition who distributed delicious
seasonal cocktails. (3 hours of Community Involvement) Donated $100
October 24: Veterans Luncheon. Hosted a luncheon with a local business offering free meals to
veterans while promoting comradeship. (5 Hours of Community Involvement)
October 24: Hosted Hudson Arts and Science Charter School with their Annual Trunk o' Treat.
We collaborated with the American Legion Post 99 to assist the school who's property was
under construction and unable to have. The event was attended by many. (3 hours of
community youth activity) Donated $100
October 25: Kearny Annual Dog Parade & Festival. Collaborated with Kearny PBA Local 21 to promote community activism and advocacy. Supported by K9s For Warriors we provided information about service dogs and their benefits for community veterans. Distributed were 100 pup cups 200 dog toys and 30lbs of candy. (8 hours of community activity) Donated $150
