Kearny High School Cheer carwash fundraiser. (4 hours)

August 22: Kearny Public School Uniform & VFW Post 1302 School Backpack Drive. Supplied

over 100 families with backpacks filled with school supplies. Families were able to enjoy the

weather in our tented picnic area while they waited. (3 hours) Youth

August 23: SSG Jorge Oliveira Memorial 5K Event. Hosted the 11 Annual 5K Memorial Event

benefiting Scholarships and supporting veterans and military families. Over $9000 monies

raised a 321% increase; 173 participants an 61% increase; $5200 in sponsors up from 0;

Over $1200 in donations a 241% increase. This allows for us to double our scholarship

amounts from $2000 to $4000 for two Kearny graduating students. (6 hours) ($2000)

August 24: Indian Knights Motorcycle Run - Supported the 11th Annual Motorcycle Ride. Indian

Knights routinely sponsor and donate to VFW Post 1302 (8 hours)

August 29: Community Movie Night - Opened our lawn to host a summer movie night free of

charge. Popcorn was provided along with candy for purchase. Approximately 40 persons

attended. (4 hours) ($500)

August 31: PBA 21 & VFW Post 1302 Give Back Haircut Event. Local Police Benevolent
