05/25 Community Service Man Hours:
1. May meeting planning May events and pre-planning
for June events. 7 members 1 hr = 7 mh.
2. Unload a truck
for Wanaque food bank and stack items on shelves 1 member 4 hrs twice a
month 8 mh.
3. Donated use of VFW building to the Haskell AC club
for their monthly meeting 4 members 1 hr = 8 mh.
4. Cleaned each week the Wanaque Golden Agers Club for
their weekly meetings 4 members 2 hrs each week = 32 mh.
5. Conducted a final farewell ceremony for a deceased
member Arthur Glen Anderson Purple Heart Award at the local funeral home 8
members 1 hr = 8 mh.
6. Cut grass and weed wacked at the Midvale Memorial
Cemetery also righted and repaired 3 headstones. 4 members 6 hrs each week =
24 mh.
7. Placed 220 geraniums at the veteran’s graves in the
Midvale Memorial Cemetaty with American Legion Post 246. 10 members 4 hrs = 40
mh. $350.00
8. Memorial Day Projects:
a. Service
at Midvale Memorial Cemetery with 21gun salute 8 members and 5 officers from
the Wanaque Police Department 1 hour = 8 mh.
b.
Memorial Day Parade leading color guard and other members in attendance. 15 members 3 hours = 45 mh.
c.
21gun salute placed a wreath and played taps at the Civil War graves at the
Midvale Church 7 men 1 hr. = 7 mh.
d.
Placed wreath at the Soldier’s Memorial at the Wanaque Borough Hall. 2 members
½ hr. = 1 mh.
e.
Placed a wreath at Addice Park in memory of Frank Addice kia in Vietnam. 2
members ½ hr. = 1 mh.
d.
Placed a wreath at the end of the parade ceremony at Memorial Field raised the
flag and played taps. 2 members ½ hr. = 1 mh. ($150.00 for wreaths)
