Day of Service 05/03/25
The
Wanaque VFW Post 6765 Wanaque Girl Scouts Troop 97819 and the Boro DPW
planted a pink Dogwood tree in the Midvale Cemetery in remembrance of the
Veteran's buried there. This was done as part of the VFW National Day of Service
and the Girl Scouts plant a tree program. The Girl Scouts also
volunteered to place American Flags with the assistance of VFW members at the
head stones of the more than 200 Veterans in the cemetery some dating back to
the Civil War. Then the post hosted a lunch for all participants and invited guests.
$400.00
for the tree and $200.00 for the lunch totaling $600.00

Members over 2 days 05/02 & 05/03 totaling 5 hours 60 man hours total.
20 Girl Scouts Leaders and parents the Mayor and his
wife / historian and 5 Wanaque DPW workers.
